Prayer is an important part of walking daily with God. Prayer is talking to God. Prayer is listening to God. “Pray” or “prayer” (or prays, praying, prayed, etc.) is used over 500 times in the New Life Version of the Bible. Clearly, the Bible has a lot to say about prayer! In this unit, we will dig deeply into the subject of prayer. It does not matter how long we have been Christians — each of us can grow spiritually by studying what the Bible has to say about prayer.

Do we pray at mealtimes to thank God for our food? Good! Do we pray at bedtime to thank God for protecting us that day? Great! Do we pray in the mornings to ask God to guide us that day? Wonderful! But prayer is not limited to mealtimes or the beginning or end of each day. God is available 24/7 (every hour of every day) for us to bring our concerns to His throne. Hebrews 4:16 says: “Let us go with complete trust to the throne of God. We will receive His loving-kindness and have His loving-favor to help us whenever we need it.”
